Susan M. McGuire, M.Ed., LPC, NCC, MAC, is the Director / Owner of McGuire Counseling Centers, LLC. She personally conducts or supervises all counseling offered at MCC. Ms. McGuire has consistently worked in the field of social services since 1977, specializing in treatment of offenders since 1980. As the owner of McGuire Counseling Centers she has set as policy that all offenders are to be treated with a sense of respect, and provided the best and consistent treatment MCC can offer.
Ms. McGuire has been in private practice providing psychotherapy services to Offender’s since July 1993. She is a Clinical Member of ATSA and a past president of the Missouri Chapter, MoATSA. She has been approved by the Missouri Board Of Certified Counselors to supervise provisionally licensed counselors for licensing purposes. Since 1993 she has been approved to provide sex offender assessment and counseling by The Missouri Department of Corrections, Board of Probation and Parole. She is also approved to provide Batterer’s Education and Counseling to individuals under the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole’s supervision. Ms. McGuire is certified to present and interpret Level 4 psychological testing. She has provided expert court testimony in the Missouri counties of St. Charles. St. Louis and Franklin Counties and the State of Florida on Sexual and Aggressive Offender cases since 1994. Ms. McGuire has provided services to individuals with a variety of mental health disorders, Personality Disorders as well as adjustment disorders.
Ms. McGuire earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with Major in Psychology. She was awarded a Master’s Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Addictions. She is ABD on a Doctorate in Counseling focusing on Addictive Behaviors.
Prior to entering the private sector, she was a specialized officer with the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole, supervising Sexual Offenders and the Missouri Department of Social Services, specializing in families with incest and sexual abuse issues. While employed by the Missouri Department of Social Services Ms. McGuire supervised the social service units in Franklin and Pike Counties, Missouri.
Ms. McGuire is a Missouri Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, and a National Board Certified Master Addictions (sexual addictions) Counselor, and holds a Certification in Domestic Violence. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and a member of the American Psychological Association. And a Clinical Member of The Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers.
